Full disclosure, I actually planned this little outfit post nearly a year ago but just never got around to posting it - yeesh! 🙈🙈🙈 Welp, better late than never right? My favorite trend of the past couple of years by far is the hair scarf. I am a big believer in color, color and more color and this is just another way to add more color :) It's also come in handy this year because I started a PhD program and long story short, how my hair looks is not really a priority anymore! Wearing my hair up is a pretty regular thing now but dressing it up with a scrunchie or a hair scarf still makes me feel like I'm at least doing something a little fun with my outfit! :)

If you're in the midwest, I hope you all are enjoying the spring-y weather! I'm writing this post at 6:00 in the evening and the sun is shining beautifully through my window - thank god for spring!

How to Style a Wood Watch with JORD

Disclaimer: This blog post is in partnership with JORD. JORD kindly sent me a free watch for review. Opinions are 100% my own. Thank you for your support!

Happy March, my friends! Today, I'm excited to be sharing with you how I style a wooden watch, in partnership with JORD! Wooden watches are so much fun to wear because they're such unique pieces that really can go well with just about anything. So without further ado, onto the watch-styling :)

Bright & Chunky

The neutral tones of a wooden watch really lend themselves to some bright pops of color! I have tons of chunky bracelets and they pair so nicely with the watch!

Boho Colors

If you want to keep it a little more down to earth, pairing the earthy tones of a wooden watch with oranges and deep greens give a nice boho style.

With a Scrunchie

I am a biiiiiig fan of scrunchies so naturally I've taken to pairing them with everything and anything (plus, they obviously double as a hair tie in hair-emergencies!). This watch looks lovely with muted tones.

JORD Watch Review:

I also wanted to give you all my honest review of the JORD watch I received, the Frankie watch in Koa and Ash. I am a big watch nerd (I have 5 in a regular rotation and another 5 sitting in my drawers waiting for new batteries - oops!) and even compared to my many existing watches, I’m really happy with the quality of my JORD watch. It’s clearly very well made and it really feels like a beautiful art piece rather than just a functional thing that I throw on in order to tell time.

Although it’s a definitely on the pricey side at $189, I think it would be a great gift idea, specifically for those that are hard to shop for! My partner is notoriously hard to shop for and I think a watch like this would be an amazing gift - something that’s very unique, well-made, and classic enough that they’ll be able to keep for a very long time. Plus, the watch comes with a cleaning cloth, a finishing oil, and extra links so you can take care of the watch over time and even adjust it as needed.

It’s moving season here in Madison which means utter chaos! I am, unfortunately, part of the hoards of people moving this month and boy has it taken out a huge chunk of my time! I always forget about how much stuff I have until I have to move everything and just want to chuck it all so I don’t have to carry it! At least this gives me a good opportunity to purge my belongings and get a fresh start at a new apartment. As much as moving drives me nuts, I love the whole process of setting up a new apartment and getting to spruce up the place with new home decor! This time, I get my own bathroom and I am way too excited. I’ve shared a bathroom with either roommates or my partner since college so this is an extremely exciting moment for me :P

Since I’ve been packing up my entire life, most of my clothes are in boxes so I’ve been living in shorts and a tank top for the past couple of weeks. These flowy red shorts were a bargain from Forever 21 and even have pockets to boot (and the pockets actually fit my phone - which is more than can be said about most dysfunctional womens’ pockets!). What are you up to this August? I can’t wait to start afresh with a new apartment and look forward to sharing more once the place is up and running! :)
