It’s never until I look through my photos from each month that I realize I spend most of my time with animals instead of people! To be honest, I can’t really complain. Animals are always so loving, sweet, and just downright happy all of the time, who wouldn’t want to spend time with them? As a kid, I always thought I wanted to be a veterinarian (creative, I know) but given the squeamishness I’d develop later in life, this wasn’t in the cards for me. I now spend much of my free time petsitting professionally and showering all of my foster cats (and my own kitty!) with as much love as possible - and it brings me so much joy to know that I’m contributing to their happiness and the animal welfare cause in my own way.

Oftentimes, I it can be easy to let our careers define who we are, but I think what truly defines us is how we choose to spend our free time, because that shows us the things we do simply because we enjoy them. What do you find yourself doing in your free time? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

This past month has been all about patience. Patience when it comes to the changing seasons (I’m always so anxious for spring to arrive!) and patience when it comes to life in general. Personally, I have been experiencing some work and career related changes over the past couple of months and it has definitely tested my patience. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am not the most patient person in the world. I’m easily anxious and obsess over every little detail when it’s something that’s particularly important to me. As I’ve been planning a return to school in the next couple of years, I’ve had to exercise patience to an extreme level! Prepping and applying for graduate school is no joke and it takes so much time and effort that often, it’s hard to see the finish line. In trying to practice patience, I always like to remind myself that this is a fresh start, a new beginning, and that it always takes time to master and accomplish something amazing! Hope your spring season has kicked off with warm weather and new beginnings! 😃

Wow. I feel like February has whizzed by for me! Time is such a strange thing. While I'm extremely anxious for some things in my life to get sorted out, it also feels like everything is moving way too quickly at the same time. Before I started blogging, I didn't take very many photos. If I did take any, they were usually of my cat! (Okay, my camera roll is still mostly cats, BUT I'm trying!) After I started blogging, however, I started to notice and appreciate the little bits of happiness and inspiration around me - and blogging gave me a place where I could share those tiny moments with the rest of the world. Taking photos has almost become a little source of meditation and reflection for me. It gives me the opportunity to slow down and appreciate a little piece of the world, no matter how small, that makes life just a bit brighter ♥

I hope your February was absolutely wonderful! Here's to a (hopefully) warm March because let's be honest, I'm getting a little sick of this cold weather! :)
