I’m a pretty awkward dancer in general but if I were to embrace any one form of dancing, ballet would be the style I’d want to try! It is such a detailed, elegant dance - I can’t help but admire the grace with which the dancers move! This flowy top makes me feel like a ballerina when I wear it - all of the layers move so gracefully and effortlessly in the air.

Plus, I love the top’s warm, chocolatey brown color! For the longest time, I thought I couldn’t wear brown because I had a light brown top that looked absolutely horrible on me! I avoided the color for years until I slowly started to realize that it’s really about the shade and tone of the color rather than the color itself. While light brown tends to look weird with my skin tone, this dark brown not only suits my skin tone but also gives off the warmest, coziest vibe!

Long story short - don’t ever cut yourself off from wearing a color or a style just due to one bad experience! You never know when you might find something that’s the perfect fit for you!

While my office doesn’t have a specific dress code (people wear everything from suits to sweats depending on the day!) I like to try and keep things at a happy medium between casual and business casual. I live and breathe in my yoga pants/leggings/anything-that-doesn’t-squish-my muffin-top-pants so an outfit that includes that is a winner in my book! Button down shirts have easily become my favorites for work because they are super duper comfortable, allow me to wear cozy yoga pants underneath, and make me look like I care about what I look like! The best of all worlds right?

Bows! Why do we stop wearing pretty bows post age 5? I love combining a simple outfit with a pretty bow on top of a ponytail or half up-do. It’s just like putting the cherry on top of a sundae - that perfect, extra little touch! My favorite place to buy bows? Amazon! True story: I once bought a 10 pack of bows in every color of the rainbow for a little under $10 - best bargain ever :) Realistically, do I need ever color of the rainbow? No. The bows I use the most tend to be black, white, red, and blue so if you are considering adopting bows into your hair accessory drawer, I’d suggest starting with those colors.

With bows, I think the best approach is to keep the outfit simple. There have been many occasions where I’ve thrown on a flowery shirt or a patterned dress and found that paired with a bow, the outfit just became too much for me. I try to pick a bow color, a shirt color that matches that, and keep everything else as basic as possible.

I love how happy and bright this outfit looks thanks to one simple bow! What are your thoughts on bows? Love it or hate it? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
