One of the best things about the fashion world is that you can really develop a personal style that changes with you as your body and personal tastes change over time. While I might not have worn a crop top just a couple of years ago, over the past year, I've found that they can look very put together if you find the right top and do wonders for evening out my short torso!

I truly didn't realize how much my personal style had changed over the past year until I re-located to my hometown and got the repeated reaction that I now dress "fancier" than I did before! While I always knew that yoga pants and crewneck sweatshirts were kind of my sweet spot in college (oops!), I hadn't realized how drastically my outfits had changed in just one year. In no way have I been trying to dress "fancier", my clothing choices just started to change as a result of a change in lifestyle. Instead of dressing for comfort to trek across campus and spend late nights in the library, I started to select pieces that could fit in in both a casual or professional setting in case I needed to switch things up between work and home!

One of the amazing things about personal style is that it can change. It changes with you as you grow, as you age, and even as your belly pooch gets bigger (yep, that's happening). There are always new trends in the fashion world but the great thing about them is that they're just trends. You are free to adopt them or let them pass you by, and a couple of years later you'll be greeted with another set of a new trends to try. You can pick and choose what works best for your personal style and incorporate that into how you look and how that makes you feel - and how you feel is what really matters :)

Dress: Forever 21 / Necklace: Shop Miss A / Bracelet: Luv Aj / Shoes: Payless

This weekend, I decided that this beautiful white dress needed some more love! This was actually the dress I bought for my college graduation because I felt that it was the perfect mix of sweet, yet elegant. There's something so innocent about white lace, especially in dress form. While it's usually associated with weddings, for me, it reminds me of more innocent times - I always picture the cutest little girls wearing lace on Easter! I've recently been struggling with the reality of being an adult and coming to terms with what adulthood means to me. I've always cherished the age I'm at in the moment, but this is the first time in my life where I'm not too sure about the stage of life that I'm currently going through. Adulthood hasn't been the easiest thing for me and it's a transition that I'm still getting used to, but simple things - like this little dress - remind me to continue to appreciate the innocence and childhood spirit that still within all of us ♥

Colorful Dress: Target / Jean Dress: Zara / Shoes: Sperry / Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters

For some reason, this outfit just makes me feel so cool :) I think it’s probably the combination of the drapey denim action plus the big sunglasses! The combination of denim and sunglasses somehow makes an outfit feel both casual yet incredibly put together - both things that I normally am not, so it's great that this outfit can come in and save the day :P

One thing that this outfit always reminds me of is the ability to repurpose certain wardrobe pieces by thinking outside of the box! I saw this beautiful denim dress in Zara and immediately thought that it would be perfect to throw over my dresses in the summer. Since it was intended to be buttoned up as a dress on its own, it was on sale because buttoned up, the dress was much too tight around the chest. As a thrown on shirt, however, it's been absolutely perfect!
