One classic combination that always seems to work for me is a black and white polka dot piece! It's professional enough for work and business casual events yet playful enough for a relaxed day with friends, so you really can't go wrong :)
I feel like I've completely forgotten about my dresses this summer - the weather in Madison has been so unpredictable that oftentimes I dress for practicality (read: yoga pants + sweatshirts) instead of wearing all of the pretty dresses I actually own!
