Sunnylife: Inflatable Swan Drink Holder - Retail $18

I love the idea of this inflatable drink holder but in reality I don’t have a place or a reason to use this! I actually wish this was a full size inflatable swan instead of just a drink holder :P

PSMHJuly11.jpg

European Wax Center: Oh My Brow! Brow Highlighter in Pearl - Retail $19

Now this is a product I can get behind! This brow highlighter goes on extremely smoothly and has a nice subtle sparkle to it. I’m a fan!

PSMHJuly5.jpg

Sachajuan: Hair in the Sun - Retail $12

It’s not entirely clear based on the card description what exactly this product is, but based on some online research it seems like it’s a hair styling/protection cream that helps to prevent damage from the sun to colored hair. Since I do not currently have any color in my hair I’ll likely be re-gifting or saving this until the next time I color my hair.

PSMHJuly7.jpg

Joe Chips: Classic Sea Salt Retro Potato Chips - Retail $1.49

Yum. I love any and all potato chips. Enough said :)

PSMHJuly12.jpg

House of Pom: Emoji Cocktail Napkins - Retail: $25

Another product where I’m not exactly sure what I’m supposed to do with it! (This month’s box seems to be chalk full of them!). According to the card, you are supposed to serve them with drinks, but do you wash them after they’ve been used or do they get tossed? So many questions! Maybe I’m just not sophisticated enough to appreciate a cocktail napkin!

PSMHJuly9.jpg

Pintail: Pineapple Pin - Retail $12

This pineapple pin is the cutest! I love the gold and its pretty detail, however, I wish it came as a necklace or bracelet instead since I don’t have much use for a pin.

PSMHJuly15.jpg

Trove Gift Card - Retail $20

While Trove had some very beautiful jewelry on its website, most of it was on the pricier side ($60+ per piece) so unfortunately the $20 off gift card wasn’t enough of an incentive for me to buy one of their pieces.

PSMHJuly8.jpg

Michael Stars: Porcelain Skinny Scarf in White - Retail $30

I’m not sure that the skinny scarf is a trend I’ll be adopting anytime soon, so I’ve decided to re-purpose it as a headband and I’m pretty happy with it as a headband instead! :)

PSMHJuly2.jpg

While the retail value of this month’s box was still pretty high, I didn’t feel that the products included in this month’s box were truly of value to me. My reaction to most of the products this month was “what am I going to do with this?!” so I’m definitely hoping for a more practical box next month. What were your thoughts on your PopSugar box this month? Got any ideas for other subscription boxes I should try? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

PopSugar Must Have: June 2016

IMG_3188.JPG

The PopSugar Must Have box is a monthly subscription ($40/month or less if you make a 3 or 6 month long commitment) that sends subscribers full-size versions of the season's must-have beauty, fashion, home, and fitness products. Typically, PopSugar includes a little folded card that describes all of the products and gives a little blurb of information about each product in the box. This month, my info card was missing from my box! :( I was disappointed by this because I love being able to read about the products and what brands they are from. Since I was missing the info card, I wasn’t even sure if I had received all of the products, but after some online research, I was able to account for everything in my PopSugar box.

Hat Attack: Neutral Diamonds-Printed Sarong - Retail $58

PopSugar gave a little preview of this item before this month’s box was shipped out and while I was (and still am) very excited about this item, I literally have zero clue how I’m supposed to tie it. I’ve googled “how to tie a sarong” and watched multiple videos but my sarong skills are still total crap. Anyone have any tips on how to tie a sarong? Otherwise, I’ve pretty much accepted the fact that this is just going to have to serve as a scarf instead.

Pacifica: Underarm Deodorant Wipes - Retail $9

I’m actually weirdly excited about this product! I recently joined a gym and *plan* on going regularly after work so I think these will be perfect for throwing into my workout bag!

IMG_3202.JPG

Sisters of Los Angeles:“Cheers” Gold Bottle Opener - Retail $12

While I don’t drink often, so I won’t have much use for this bottle opener - I can’t deny the fact that it’s the cutest bottle opener I’ve ever seen! I’ll probably be tossing some of my crappier bottle openers to make room for this one.

Wild and Wolf Ridley’s Games Room: “Who Am I?” Quiz - Retail $12.95

I really, really, really wanted to love this game because I love to play board/card games but unfortunately, this game didn’t turn out to be what I’d hoped. It’s played similar to how trivial pursuit is played, but the clues on each card are extremely obscure and hard to guess. Maybe this game would be better for people who know more random trivia than I do, but I think for the average person, the clues are a little bit too difficult for it to be much fun.

NCLA: Born on the 4th Nail Lacquer ($16)

This adorable nail polish came just in time for the holiday weekend and I cannot wait to sport it on the 4th of July! Since the polish is mostly just sparkles and clear nail polish, I think I’ll throw on a coat of white nail polish underneath it so that the colored sparkles look better.

IMG_3196.JPG

Knock Knock: Are You Ready (For Your Close-Up?) Compact ($10)

One thing I do love about all subscription boxes is that they kind of have a knack for throwing in things that I’ve been meaning to get before I even have a chance to get them! I’ve been meaning to get another compact mirror for my work purse and this one has both a magnified mirror and a normal mirror in it - which I love!

IMG_3203 2.JPG

Pressels: Sriracha ($1.29)

Weirdly enough, I think this was my favorite item out of the entire box! Usually, I’m not a big fan of the food items I receive in boxes, but I absolutely loved these Pressels. I also don’t usually like spicy things, so I was pleasantly surprised by these Sriracha Pressels. While I don’t think I’ll be going out to buy them anytime soon, if I happen to whiz by them at my grocery store I may throw a bag into my cart ;)

I have to say, I was a little disappointed with this month’s box! Looking over some of my past PopSugar box reviews, this box has definitely seen better days. There were months where I loved almost every single thing in the box and was so excited about every product. This month, everything is nice, but there’s nothing I’m super excited to have received. Plus, I didn’t feel that the value of the box was as high as it has been in the past. I know every subscription box can’t be perfect but PopSugar has been my unicorn of a box for so many months - I’m hoping this isn’t an indication that things will start to go downhill! :( Maybe I’ve just gotten pickier over time? I don’t know! What were your thoughts on this month’s PopSugar? Leave me a note in the comments! I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for reading ♥

Happy Spritz: Breathe Deeply

I’m absolutely in love with this spray! I’ve literally been spraying it every day all the time. It’s just such a perfect little spray for making me feel more refreshed and relaxed at the same time. I do think it's a little bit overpriced and I'm not sure that I’m going to re-purchase something like this, but I will definitely be looking into these types of products and I'm really excited to scour Pinterest to see if there are DIY options for a spray like this.

Gaiam: Foldable Yoga Mat

I was so excited about this soon as I saw this in the PopSugar! I am always looking for more yoga mats to try because while I'm not the best at yoga, I think it's something that I definitely need in my life and something that I like doing on occasion. I've always kind of struggled with finding a yoga mat that's best for me because I am a weirdo and my hands sweat like crazy! The only mat I've found so far that works is towel mat from Lululemon which I think is meant for hot yoga but actually works for normal yoga for me because my hands are so crazily sweaty. While this mat is still a little too slick for me and might end up as a gift to my mom, I do love the fact that it’s foldable and can easily fit into a bag!

Blame Project: Capri Bracelets

I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I like these thin little bracelets! I’m not typically a tassel person but in small quantities I've started to enjoy them thanks to PopSugar. It's not something I would have purchased for myself but they’ve grown on me and love that they are easy to wear on a daily basis.

Spongelle: Spongology Body Buffer

I have really been enjoying using this sponge! It's a lot of fun to have a sponge that doesn't require any extra body wash to use. The smell of sponge is little bit too lotion-y for my taste but still feel like I've gotten a decent number of uses out of it so I'm happy!

Kocostar: Foot Therapy

I always love getting spa treatments in my subscription boxes because they are things that I would never ever buy on my own! Unfortunately, I wasn’t too impressed with this one. In theory, I love the idea of giving myself a pampering sesh but these were so hard to keep on for the hour and a half that the directions indicated. I was slipping all over the place while walking and one of the wraps even broke at the tip of my foot which basically made it so that I couldn't go anywhere!

Revlon: Volume + Length Magnified Mascara

If you've read my past reviews you’ll know that I typically don’t like receiving mascara in my subscription boxes because my eyelashes are not the best but it comes to holding a curl! (Still on the hunt for the ideal mascara for stubbornly straight eyelashes if you’ve got any tips!) I was impressed with this mascara because it really didn't do much clumping and definitely separated my eyelashes well, however, it didn't hold a curl well so it’ll still end up going in my re-gift pile. Overall though, I do appreciate the fact that it was a full-size mascara which is definitely great value added to the box

Hint Kick: Lemon & Cayenne

JimmyBar: Peanut Butter Clutter Clean Snack Bar

I wasn’t a huge fan of either of the food items this month. The caffeinated water and the bar were both in flavors that I don't love so I gifted them to my boyfriend since it would be wasted on me anyway!

IMG_1505-3.JPG

Half Hitch Goods: $10 Gift Card

I always feel the same way about gift cards that I get in subscription boxes. I feel like I need to use them but then whenever I go on the website to use them, I can never find anything I truly want. This one is probably going to see a similar fate as nothing on the website caught my eye. I think I'll save my money despite having the $10 gift card.

Happy Spritz: 25% off Coupon

I don't typically use the add-on coupons of the products that come with the PopSugar box, however, given my obsession with the Happy Spritz product, I thought I would add this on if not just to remind myself that I have it :)

IMG_1494-1.JPG

Although I didn't love everything in this month I still love receiving subscription boxes like this because I don't try a lot of new products or brands in my own every day life so receiving these products in a box every month kind of forces me to branch out and I enjoy that! Although there are always things that I like and I don't like, I think it's worth it to be able to try new products and new brands to expand my horizons instead of being stuck in the same routine. It's a fun experience for me!  What did you think of your PopSugar? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for reading :)
