It's almost Valentine's Day - or Singles Awareness Day as most of my girlfriends like to call it! For me, dressing up to match the holidays makes planning my outfits so much more fun because I have a theme to focus in on. I own tons of pink in my summer wardrobe but it's always difficult to find Valentine's Day inspiration in my dark winter closet, so instead, I decided to incorporate one of the new sweaters I bought from Thredup.

My favorite part of this outfit? The matching red lipstick! I love that lipstick can essentially be an accessory in its own right. It adds so much more color and dimension to an outfit. Plus, if you're looking for a lipstick that really stays put - definitely check out these Colour Pop Lippie Stix. These photos were taken after a 9 hour day at work and the lip color still looks as good as new! Amazing.

In hindsight I do realize that this outfit also looks very christmas-y but according to my boyfriend: "if there's no green then it doesn't count" so I'm just going to pretend it's valentine's day themed only :)

Bonus: Ruby loooves hanging out with shoes. Any shoe that ends up on the floor she will inevitably befriend. I find it hilarious so I have quite the collection of shoe+cat photos on my phone! Does anyone else's cat do this or is my cat just crazy?! 

Whenever I'm asked to dress in "business casual" attire, I somehow always end up in this beautiful shade of sapphire blue! Business attire is often very black heavy but adding strong jewel-toned colors can keep things professional while also bringing a touch of color to the outfit! While I'm not exactly a natural when it comes to dressing up in business casual attire, I can't deny the fact that it really makes me feel more powerful - and who can say no to that?

Have any ideas on easy ways to dress business casual-y? I'd love to hear from you! I'm constantly pinning ideas since I know it's something I'll need more in the future (:

This outfit made me so happy because it's just so crazy simple (and apparently my cat really liked the outfit, too!). All I did was throw on a sweater, a necklace, and my go-to jeggings. It's nice to be able to throw on a couple of pieces that are just as comfortable as my pajamas yet still look 10 times more put together.

I know sometimes it can be tough to care about whatI wear to work since I see the same people over and over, but I find that taking the time to really put myself together in the morning helps me feel more confident and productive! Realistically, however, I know that sometimes mornings can be rushed and I just don't have the time to craft an elaborate outfit so it's always wonderful to have some classically simple outfits like this one!
