Hello tassels! Okay, I admit, I was very hesitant to try this trend out. I'd noticed the tassel trend creeping into the blogosphere but fringes and frills and tassels? Really not my thing! Or so I thought. I received this tassel necklace in my PopSugar box last month and it has definitely helped open up my eyes to how I can incorporate this trend into my wardrobe. While a million differently colored tassels hanging off a purse may not be my style, a uniformly colored group of tassels in necklace form definitely is :)
Hair note: Please excuse the messy bun - it's been my go-to hairstyle for the last week! Do you ever get to that point where you really need a haircut and your hair gets so puffy and frizzy and just overall blah that all you can do to make it look even semi reasonable is wrangle it into a bun? Yup, that's me, right now.
Anyhoo - it's officially April so I'm reeeaaally hoping the weather will decide to warm up so that the next outfit I post won't involve a sweater. One can hope right? Thanks for reading! ♥
Dressing Up with eShakti ♥
This post is a partnership with eShakti. eShakti sent me a product for review. All opinions are 100% my own.
I am officially in love with this dress. The colors, the design, the poofy skirt - everything! (Bonus features: it can twirl AND it has pockets. Clearly, I was excited). I decided to go simple with styling this dress and didn't add too many extra sparkles and charms. The dress itself is so beautiful, I felt that it needed to stand on its own without the distraction of other accessories!
When eShakti reached out to me to ask if I'd be interested in partnering with them, I'd never heard of the brand, but now I think I'm hooked! eShakti's website features dresses, tops, and bottoms that you can customize to your specific measurements and style preferences. For this dress, I loved the pattern but decided to change up the style a little bit by making the dress sleeveless and adding a boat neckline. I also customized the dress' size by adding all of the appropriate measurements (i.e. hip, waist, chest, shoulder). eShakti's website had a very easy-to-use explanation of where each measurement was located on the body so this made it much easier to customize!
I had never tried customizing before but I think it'll be something I'll have to do more often because this dress fits perfectly! I was a little worried that the styling changes I made to the neckline and the sleeves might come off weirdly since they weren't the original design of the dress but they actually turned out exactly as I'd pictured them in my head. I am in love with this dress and so happy that there is a website out there that actually makes customizations more attainable for the everyday shopper. I may or may not already be planning my next purchases…don't tell my wallet :)
Have you tried eShakti? What are your thoughts on this brand?

Spring Kimonos ☀
It's almost spring which means *drum roll* COLORS! I'm a pretty cheery person so colors are my cheery person way of wearing my cheeriness for everyone to see. Honestly, how can you not look at a happy print like this and not smile just a little bit? Not to mention, these kimono tops are perfect for spring weather because they offer a little bit of warmth but are light enough that you don't get too hot as the weather warms up!
This is also one of my go-to outfit combinations because it's so simple. I own a ton of open front kimono tops (like this, this, and this one - I can't get enough of these!) and I love that I can throw them on with anything. Underneath the top, I'm just wearing your average tank top and yoga pants but with the colorful top on, it makes the outfit look much more put together even though I feel just as comfy :)
What are your favorite spring outfits? It's been so rainy in Chicago over the past couple of days that I've felt like I need to wear more color just to brighten up the dreary days! I guess the rain is just mother nature's way of prepping for spring!
