As simple as this combination is, it is so out of my comfort zone! While this might be considered an easy, comfortable outfit for someone else - for me, flowy tops and dresses are more my speed. I'm really trying to break out of my comfort zone and add more variety to my outfits because if there's anything that life has taught me, it's that you really shouldn't knock it 'til you've tried it! I've loved trying out this casual combination but I'm still deciding if it will be a permanent member of my outfit combo collection!

What do you guys think? :) Let me know! And as always, thanks for reading

First off - let me explain the title of this post. I've always gravitated towards red, white, and blue combinations in my outfits because I feel that these colors pair so well together. Yet when I actually wear these colors together and it happens to not be the 4th of July (aka most of the time), I always feel like my outfit is "Weirdly American". Maybe I'm the only one who actually notices how patriotic my outfits are, but it always makes me laugh at myself when I put together a new outfit combo and realize that I've, yet again, chosen a patriotic color palette.

Anybody else have these patriotic outfit tendencies? Or am I the only crazy one out there?

Hello tassels! Okay, I admit, I was very hesitant to try this trend out. I'd noticed the tassel trend creeping into the blogosphere but fringes and frills and tassels? Really not my thing! Or so I thought. I received this tassel necklace in my PopSugar box last month and it has definitely helped open up my eyes to how I can incorporate this trend into my wardrobe. While a million differently colored tassels hanging off a purse may not be my style, a uniformly colored group of tassels in necklace form definitely is :)

Hair note: Please excuse the messy bun - it's been my go-to hairstyle for the last week! Do you ever get to that point where you really need a haircut and your hair gets so puffy and frizzy and just overall blah that all you can do to make it look even semi reasonable is wrangle it into a bun? Yup, that's me, right now.

Anyhoo - it's officially April so I'm reeeaaally hoping the weather will decide to warm up so that the next outfit I post won't involve a sweater. One can hope right? Thanks for reading!
