Dress: Forever 21 / Scarf: Hat Attack Shoes: Sperry / Watch: PopSugar / Bracelets: Francesca's / Earrings: Claire's
This past week has been my first true week off in almost two years and I took that opportunity to revamp my wardrobe a little in preparation for my upcoming new job! While I do shop pretty regularly for new clothes, given that I’m now 23 (crazy!) I thought my wardrobe needed more of a maturity upgrade than anything else. I’ve always had a bit of a babyface and due to the fact that I love to wear dresses and bright colors, this can make me come off much younger than I actually am! Now, this isn’t a bad thing most of the time, but when it comes to being on the job and trying to get people to take me seriously in a work environment, it can be a bit counter productive!
I’m a weirdo when it comes to going on shopping trips because I really need to mentally prepare myself before I’m in the mood to actually buy any clothes. If I’m not dressed to go shopping then I get too lazy to try anything on and end up spending money on random things I don’t need instead of the clothing items that I actually need! This pink dress combo is awesome for an “out shopping” outfit because it’s super easy to whip on and off and doesn’t have too many bells and whistles I need to worry about while trying on clothes.
At my most recent shopping trip, I picked up some autumn jackets (shopping off season is the best way to get good deals!) so while they won’t be featured anytime soon, you may seem some of my newest Zara finds once autumn rolls around!

PopSugar Must Have: June 2016
The PopSugar Must Have box is a monthly subscription ($40/month or less if you make a 3 or 6 month long commitment) that sends subscribers full-size versions of the season's must-have beauty, fashion, home, and fitness products. Typically, PopSugar includes a little folded card that describes all of the products and gives a little blurb of information about each product in the box. This month, my info card was missing from my box! :( I was disappointed by this because I love being able to read about the products and what brands they are from. Since I was missing the info card, I wasn’t even sure if I had received all of the products, but after some online research, I was able to account for everything in my PopSugar box.
Hat Attack: Neutral Diamonds-Printed Sarong - Retail $58
PopSugar gave a little preview of this item before this month’s box was shipped out and while I was (and still am) very excited about this item, I literally have zero clue how I’m supposed to tie it. I’ve googled “how to tie a sarong” and watched multiple videos but my sarong skills are still total crap. Anyone have any tips on how to tie a sarong? Otherwise, I’ve pretty much accepted the fact that this is just going to have to serve as a scarf instead.
Pacifica: Underarm Deodorant Wipes - Retail $9
I’m actually weirdly excited about this product! I recently joined a gym and *plan* on going regularly after work so I think these will be perfect for throwing into my workout bag!
Sisters of Los Angeles:“Cheers” Gold Bottle Opener - Retail $12
While I don’t drink often, so I won’t have much use for this bottle opener - I can’t deny the fact that it’s the cutest bottle opener I’ve ever seen! I’ll probably be tossing some of my crappier bottle openers to make room for this one.
Wild and Wolf Ridley’s Games Room: “Who Am I?” Quiz - Retail $12.95
I really, really, really wanted to love this game because I love to play board/card games but unfortunately, this game didn’t turn out to be what I’d hoped. It’s played similar to how trivial pursuit is played, but the clues on each card are extremely obscure and hard to guess. Maybe this game would be better for people who know more random trivia than I do, but I think for the average person, the clues are a little bit too difficult for it to be much fun.
NCLA: Born on the 4th Nail Lacquer ($16)
This adorable nail polish came just in time for the holiday weekend and I cannot wait to sport it on the 4th of July! Since the polish is mostly just sparkles and clear nail polish, I think I’ll throw on a coat of white nail polish underneath it so that the colored sparkles look better.
Knock Knock: Are You Ready (For Your Close-Up?) Compact ($10)
One thing I do love about all subscription boxes is that they kind of have a knack for throwing in things that I’ve been meaning to get before I even have a chance to get them! I’ve been meaning to get another compact mirror for my work purse and this one has both a magnified mirror and a normal mirror in it - which I love!
Pressels: Sriracha ($1.29)
Weirdly enough, I think this was my favorite item out of the entire box! Usually, I’m not a big fan of the food items I receive in boxes, but I absolutely loved these Pressels. I also don’t usually like spicy things, so I was pleasantly surprised by these Sriracha Pressels. While I don’t think I’ll be going out to buy them anytime soon, if I happen to whiz by them at my grocery store I may throw a bag into my cart ;)
I have to say, I was a little disappointed with this month’s box! Looking over some of my past PopSugar box reviews, this box has definitely seen better days. There were months where I loved almost every single thing in the box and was so excited about every product. This month, everything is nice, but there’s nothing I’m super excited to have received. Plus, I didn’t feel that the value of the box was as high as it has been in the past. I know every subscription box can’t be perfect but PopSugar has been my unicorn of a box for so many months - I’m hoping this isn’t an indication that things will start to go downhill! :( Maybe I’ve just gotten pickier over time? I don’t know! What were your thoughts on this month’s PopSugar? Leave me a note in the comments! I’d love to hear your thoughts!

New York City in Pictures
When you think you're taking the perfect picture, but no. -_-
This was my first time in New York City and while I was excited to be seeing friends and family, I knew that city life was not going to be for me! Crowds of people, traffic noise, dirty streets etc are pretty much the definition of where I don't want to be - so instead of seeing it as a relaxing vacation, I tried to think of it as an adventure where I got to try as much good food as possible! And oh boy did I get to try some absolutely amazing food. While food in New York can be a little on the expensive side, I always think it's worth it to try every food at least once :)
I'm not the best when it comes to taking pretty, good quality pictures. Most of the time, my iPhone camera roll is littered with rando blurry pictures that I've somehow taken of my feet (I took a riveting 10 second slo-mo video of the pavement during this New York trip) and the rest of the photos are of my sleeping cat. Even though I'm pretty crap at taking good photos, all of the photos that I do end up taking make me happy :) I didn't take the best pictures of every landmark we visited but I made sure to take pictures of all the food I ate aka the part about traveling that makes me the happiest!
I hope you've enjoyed this little peek into my New York trip. I'll be starting a new job soon at a company that has an office in NYC so I hope to have many more NYC based food pictures to come :)
